My full name is Michael Sean Fernandez,  my DJ name is "Mike Sean".  Born 1966 and raised in South-West Tampa Florida near Fox 13.  At the young age of 13, a neighbor friend of mine named Anthony Moran (age 17 at the time) asked me to assist him with a DJ gig.  I became his DJ assistant for the next few gigs that he had booked. My parents had a microphone, amplifier and speaker that my grandfather used at his business before he passed in 1972.  All I needed was a DJ Mixer and a pair of turntables.  During that year (1980), I cut grass, washed cars and did chores to make enough money to buy a radio shack mixer for $125.00 at the age of 14 to almost complete my first DJ set up.
Now for the turntables, my sister had a Barbie record player and I had a Montgomery Wards stereo with a record player built in.  Hence, my first set of DJ equipment to practice on at home.  At the age of 15 (1981), I started to DJ on my own.  My parents would help load the family wood panel station wagon and drive me to the gigs.  I only did about 6 gigs that year for family, friends and school dances, but at $25 bucks an hour, I made enough money to buy real DJ equipment and a decent record library to get the job done.  At that time, me and my two best friends, Frank and Adrian, called ourselves the "MC3" and would RAP, Dance and perform at our DJ Gigs.  We wrote and taped two original RAP SONGS and got hired to perform and entertain at a few events that year.

At the age of 16 (1982), my parents fixed up a 1950 Ford Pick Up Truck and I became the president of a teen club called Crew Club of Tampa, AKA "The Crew".   The Crew was a group of about 30 high school boys who met monthly to plan out the teen dances and fundraisers at various venues.  A non profit fraternity of friends if you will.  The Crew Club of Tampa was dissolved in 1984 because all of us boys were growing up and becoming individually busy in our own lives.  The name "The Crew" was registered in my name so I kept it as my DJ/Entertainment company name hence Crew Entertainment.

For the next four years, Crew Entertainment was my part time job through High School and into College.  In 1986, when I turned 18 years of age, Rico Blanco hired me to DJ 3 nights a week at "Thrills Night Club" in Tampa while still working Crew Entertainment parties on the weekends.    I went on to work for some of the biggest and best Night Clubs in Tampa.  In 1988, I received my AA Degree from HCC towards a career for engineering but for the last 5 years, all I heard was ..... "you have a great voice and personality, you should be on TV or Radio".  So for the first time in 7 years, I decided to make DJing my way of making a living and possibly my career.  So I switched majors and enrolled in Mass Communications classes to begin my journey.

In 1989, The Power Pig hit the radio waves when Jacor Communications changed Z93 oldies format to a top 40's dance format.  With my talents and education in hand, I went to The Power Pig 93.3 WFLZ in Tampa, FL and asked for an internship and got my foot in the door.  I worked 6 months as an intern before Jacor hired me as a full time employee to produce the traffic and weather for News Radio 970 WFLA and part time air personality for The Power Pig.  I did not get paid as an intern and only got minmum wage as a producer and part time on air personality, so Crew Entertainment Parties and DJing Night Clubs paid the bills.  Dave Mann gave me my new DJ name "MIke Sean" during an air shift on The Power Pig, 93.3 WFLZ.  In the mornings, I produced the traffic and weather for Jack Harris, Tedd Webb and Sharon Taylor and one day Sharon said, "MIke... don't you do night club djing?"  I said yes and she handed me a news paper advertisment (Walt Disney World is looking for a DJ/MC for a new club).   I called and got scheduled for an audition against more than 100 other DJs from all over the US and got the job.  I was a DJ and MC for Walt Disney World and Pleasure Island for 2 years but missed Raido and wanted to go back on the air.

In 1992, I left Disney and landed a Mid-Day slot on The Boss of the Bay WTMP.  From there I went to nights at Warm 107.3 FM, then Afternoon Drive at Oldies Radio U92, then nights at the Point 102.5, then Mornings back at Oldies Radio U92 with Clevland Wheeler, then Mix 96, 100.7 and got tired of getting fired because of format changes or corporate bull (isshhh).  That is when I decieded to make Crew Entertainment a full time real business because radio became corporate and governed not entertaining and fun anymore.

In 1998, I was back to DJing Crew Entertainment gigs and Night Clubs full time.  In 1999, I added Video Production services to Crew Entertainment to increase business and the bottom line.  My business grew and I was making 10 times what I ever made in radio.   In the year 2000, at the age of 33, I was born again and accepted christ as my savior and was baptized shortly there after.  I met my wonderful wife Darla while DJing and have 3 wonderful children that I love so much.  I always wanted to make more money so I was look for a way to hit it big.  So I tried investing into two other oportunities and lost everything.  But Crew Entertainment DJ, Video and Lighting has been my constant income for 25 plus years now and I realize that is where the Lord wants me.

So, now in 2011, I am determined to take my DJ skills and talents to the next level and you can help by keeping me and my company in mind when ever you hear someone say "I need a DJ or Video or MC or Lighting.... etc..."  Thank you and God Bless you for your time, interest and consideration for business.

Sincerely,

Michael Sean Fernandez

DJ Mike Sean.
